Susan is passionate about creating a world in which people have reasons to smile.
Originally Susan was transfixed by fashion, and though getting occasionally distracted by politics and debating, she initially studied for a degree in Fashion Design at the National College of Art and Design. An internship in New York, a thoroughly enjoyed ergonomics project, a summer spent teaching sewing to women in Rio de Janeiro, an exploration into the power of clothing for communication and very many clothing creations later, Susan realised she still loved design and wanted to see what else she could do with it.
A chance encounter led her to a Masters in Interactive Digital Media in Trinity College during which she became fascinated with creating engaging relations between people and the digital realm. Here she learned about the power of fun as a fundamental element in people smiling, with a project that created playful physical interactions between users and onscreen animations.
Upon finding and joining the Designing Dublin: Learning to Learn project Susan felt like her passion for creating a happier, more smiling, world has married with her love for design and her delight in working with people.
