Eimear believes that design is a powerful tool that can improve our experience of the present and help us imagine the future.
While studying her degree in Product Design at Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), she developed an interest in investigating the holistic aspect of design through various projects, focusing on finding unexplored and unexpected ways of solving problems, which have the potential to improve everyday life.
After graduation, Eimear undertook a Masters in Professional Design Practice at DIT. Her final written thesis entitled ‘question your teaspoons’ evolved from her interest in alternative approaches and methodologies in design practice.
This continuing interest in the application of design to everyday life led her to apply to Designing Dublin: Learning to Learn, where she was given the opportunity to use her design approach to effect innovative and sustainable solutions to social challenges in Dublin.
Outside of Designing Dublin, Eimear enjoys coming up with various hair-brained schemes and rarely following through on them.
